The role of UVRI-CRP Initiative limited is to conduct HIV prevention trials, basic sciences and epidemiological research in HIV, TB, Malaria and other related diseases and to support IAVI-sponsored activities in Uganda

The program’s focus is to identify opportunities and priorities for research towards finding vaccines for r HIV and associated diseases and support through among other areas conducting clinical trials in fulfillment of the government of Uganda and IAVI’s partnership responsibilities within the fight against HIV.

Vision: A regional center of excellence in health research.

Mission: To conduct health research, education, capacity building, and advocacy, that will further the contributions of the region to the global public health agenda.

Mandate: To conduct Clinical trials, Basic Sciences, Social Behavioral, Implementation Science, and Epidemiological Research in diseases of public health concern.
